Biography

The swiss-born musician studied classical Saxophone at both the Hochschule Luzern and the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste with Beat Hofstetter and Sascha Armbruster and Lars Mlekusch respectively.
With great passion she dedicates a great portion of her musical activity to contemporary music and its interpretation. As a freelance musician she is mainly involved in the duo eventuell. where she collaborates with Manuela Villiger. Furthermore, she is an avid chamber ensemble musician and substitutes in different ensembles and orchestras, such as the Berner Sinfonieorchester and the Sinfonieorchester Basel.
Artistically, Vera is interested in interdisciplinary settings as well as the authenticity and the physical presence of the performer. As a result of the pursuit of new repertoire by eventuell., she recently started to express herself as a composer too.
Vera was awarded the Kulturförderpreis by the Kanton of Solothurn in 2017.
