Storm
for orchestra musicians with different microphones, smartphones, flash light, propeller, synthesizer“Storm” is inspired by the thought of an impending, looming thunderstorm
It was performed before the last movement "La tampesta"
from the Syphonie nr. 8 by Joseph Haydn.
The musicians play / control a synthesizer via contact microphones and mobile phones.
A group of string players have contact microphones on their bows and play with the pressure of their thumbs and the movement of their bows. Another group of musicians triggers the synthesizer sounds via the button and touch screen of the mobile phone. The same button triggers the smartphone's flashlight.
The wind players play the "wind" with their instruments and music sheets and set four propellers in motion. The propellers are controlled via four microphones for wind instruments. - Year of creation 2023
