Founded in 1982 as Serenata Basel and re-booted in 1999 under the name Kammerorchester Basel – in homage to Paul Sacher and his Basel Chamber Orchestra. Extending its sphere of activity beyond Basel, the ensemble honed its aesthetic profile, as an ensemble for new music and as a baroque orchestra. Since 2015, regular collaboration with conductors Giovanni Antonini and Heinz Holliger. Concertante opera performances and mediation work for young people.
