Bruno Spoerri was born in Zurich in 1935. He began his career as a saxophonist in various ensembles, worked as a freelance composer and sound recordist, produced film music and commercials, founded the Institute for Computer Music and experimented with software developments combining composition and innovation. He has also extensively studied the history of jazz in Switzerland and in 2005 edited “Jazz in Switzerland. History and Stories” and in 2010 a book called “Musik aus dem Nichts. Geschichte der elektroakustischen Musik in der Schweiz “.
