It was a great opportunity for me, when my dear mentor Matthias Steinauer, which introduced me in counterpoint and many very useful and precious theoretical thoughts during my musical studies in the early Nineties, asked me to write a composition, that the ensemble "Oggi Musica" and the guest -soloist and well - known 1941 born Irène Schweizer would perform in Lugano October 23rd, 1999 at the Auditorio "S. Molo", Radio svizzera della lingua italiana together with works of Matthias Steinauer, Alfred Zimmerlin, Nadir Vassena and Alessandro Solbiati.
I wrote a piece of music which had a classicistical touch and asked Irène to just improvise to the written music. First she seemed not to like it too much, but then she played a very beautiful part, that I love so much and I hope she will too. It's a little piano - concerto with brilliant "grandezza".
