minimalANIMAL is a concert/performance consisting mainly of three works by Anna Sowa: minimalANIMAL I (2024) for accordion and electronics,
minimalANIMAL II (2025) for accordion reeds and electronics, both composed for Margherita Berlanda,
and minimalANIMAL III (2026) for electronics, composed for Angela Demattè.
The development of the ideas explored in these pieces led to the creation of a choreography by Angela Demattè, as well as a series of sound and movement intermezzos and conjunction-like fragments developed collectively. Brought together into a single performative form, these elements constitute minimalANIMAL (2026).
The performance makes use of a construction designed for accordion reeds, originally created for minimalANIMAL II, as well as a visual object featured in the final section of the work, created by Francesco Manenti / SCARAB.
