For four snare drums
Four percussionists simultaneously perform the snare drum piece “Field Drum Solo” in a single space. The musicians blacken the surface at a steady rate of about 272 bpm. As the performance progresses, nuances of timbre and harmonics appear. The piece ends when the skin of the instrument is completely covered.
