Born in 1987 in Switzerland, Kevin Juillerat studies simultaneously composition – with Michael Jarrell in Geneva and Georg Friedrich Haas in Basel – and saxophone with Pierre Stéphane Meugé and Marcus Weiss. He attends the IRCAM Cursus 2015-2016 in Paris where he specializes in electroacoustic music.
As a composer, he has a wide range of commissions, and has composed, to name only a few, for l’Orchestre de Chambre de Genève (CH), the ensembles Linéa and Proxima Centauri (F), Soyuz21, TaG, Phoenix and Vortex (CH), the pianist Cédric Pescia or the trombonist Mike Svoboda.
His Music in played throughout Europe, but also in Russia, USA, Australia, South America. His works are published by Éditions Alphonse Leduc, Paris, BabelScores and Note en Bulle Editions, Brest.
As a saxophonist, he participates in several classical, contemporary and experimental music projects, playing with ensembles and orchestras such as Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Contrechamps, Mariinsky Orchestra or Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, under the baton of well known conductors, such as Valery Gergiev, Pierre Boulez, Neeme Järvi or Matthias Pintscher. He worked with composers such as Heinz Holliger, Peter Ablinger, Jean-Claude Risset and Tom Johnson.
