Christoph Gallio, saxophone & composition (*1957) Lives in Baden, Switzerland. Self-taught. Studied saxophone with Iwan Roth at the Basel conservatory and music with Steve Lacy in Paris. Master of Arts in Transdisciplinarity at the Zurich University of the Arts. In 1987 he won the Action Arts Price of the city of Basel, in 2009 the Berlin Atelier and 2022 the London Atelier of the Kanton Aargau and the Buenas Aires Atelier oft he City of Baden in 2017. Since 1988 Gallio leads the Swiss trio DAY & TAXI (with bass player Silvan Jeger and drummer Gerry Hemingway (USA) since 2013/18). And also the quintet ROAD WORKS in collaboration with fine artists like Beat Streuli and Caro Niederer (with Dominique Girod on double bass, Silvan Jeger on synthesizer and electronics, Raphael Loher on piano and electronics and Nicolas Stocker on drums).

Christoph Gallio played on international Jazzfestivals in Canada, China, Japan, Russia, Kasachstan, Chile, Argentina, Europe and the USA.
