I am on the road as a composer, scientist and jazz pianist. I started out in species conservation. My further explorations took me through rainforests, lecture halls, medical technology companies and other biotopes. I worked as an entrepreneur in the medical device industry for 20 years.
I compose for orchestras and ensembles. I have written the soundtrack to my life myself. The musical portfolio encompasses lead sheets for tonal, polytonal and atonal jazz as well as piano music and orchestral pieces. I work with the toolbox of the pioneering composers of the so-called “Neue Musik” and with grooves from the jazz world. Essentially self-taught, I have acquired my skills as needed from professionals. I was an occasional student of Lee Mitchell (1945-1999), pianist, composer and Johns Hopkins University professor in Baltimore (USA).
My first orchestral piece “Minutenpendel” made its public debut in May 2021, a few months after its completion, and was featured on SRF 2 Kultur on May 26, 2021.
