Sulla Lingua:
Anthony Pateras, synth, sampler, drum machine
Stefano Pilia, baritone guitar
Riccardo La Foresta, drums, drummophone

Sulla Lingua is the world's only Australian-Italian electroacoustic noise rock trio. Formed in 2021 by Anthony Pateras (tïtïma/PIVIXKI) on electronics, guitarist Stefano Pilia (Zu, Rokia Traoré, Massimo Volume) & Riccardo La Foresta on drums and custom-made 'Drummophone.'

Their debut ON is a granitic slab of troglodyte rhythms, kraut heaviness, luxurious ear candy and distilled melodies that stem from the clashing of the three's experiences in sharing collaborations and from their solo projects.

Pateras/Pilia/La Foresta share an impeccable pedigree with releases over the years on labels such as Editions Mego, Tzadik, Shelter Press, Maple Death, Die Schachtel, Kohlhass etc. making their contribution to Sulla Lingua even more unique.

ON from the get-go sounds like a fully fleshed out album, a record that lives and breathes at its own pace with an incredible blend of maximalist rock and minimalist textures.

Started around recordings of La Foresta's instrument, the Drummophone, manipulated and elaborated by Pateras and Pilia during a residency in Modena that took place 2021, the trio has constructed a repertoire of tunes that are already modern classics of good-time-math-prog-disco-slow-head-banging. Sulla Lingua is Italian for "on the tongue" or "on language" and it is a symptom of the desire of crossing over idioms with massively fun rock-based music.
