Rabasta is a hip hop instrumental quartet that plays a repertoire of fragmented compositions in a collectively developed interpretation. While the musical aesthetic of hip-hop culture is a starting point and a present color, the absence of vocals and the search for an unstable but driving rhythm deliberately place Rabasta's music at a certain distance from rap. What's more, the four musicians' instrumental practice, largely steeped in improvisation and experimentation of all kinds, also takes their sound development into less determined territory.
